Product Description

Chateau Olivier

Just 11 km from Bordeaux, Château Olivier is a historic estate whose origins trace back to the Middle Ages. Owned by the Bethmann family since 1867, the château has long been admired for its unique distinction: in the 1953 Graves Classification, it was officially recognized for the excellence of both its red and white wines. Today, the domaine is managed by Laurent Lebrun, an experienced oenologist with international expertise, ensuring Olivier continues to shine among the elite of Pessac-Léognan.

The 55-hectare vineyard is planted with classic Bordeaux varieties. Reds are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, while whites are crafted from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. With gravel soils and vines averaging 20 years for reds and 30 years for whites, the terroir yields wines of balance, elegance, and depth.

Winemaking combines tradition and precision: white wines are barrel-fermented and aged on lees for 12 months, offering richness and aromatic complexity, while reds are matured for 12 months in oak (one-third new), producing structured, age-worthy wines with fine tannins.

The estate’s range includes the flagship Château Olivier (Grand Vin) in both red and white, alongside second wines La Seigneurie d’Olivier (red) and Le Dauphin d’Olivier (red and white), which deliver approachability without compromising pedigree.
