Grape

Pinot Noir (100%)

Tasting notes

Dense, powerful fruit and rich colour in a full-bodied red. Aromas of dark cherries, dark chocolate and a little star anise carry through to flavours of cherry, blackberry and plum, with complex hints of cocoa, leather and mushrooms.

Smooth body, refreshing acidity and firm tannins make this a match for duck or goose—or ratatouille—that will continue to evolve for five or more years.

Expert Reviews

91/100 – Wine Spectator
“Features intense aromas of dark fruits, earth, and a touch of oak. The palate is robust with firm tannins and a lengthy finish ”

About the winery

Francois d’Allaines started his eponymous wine business in 1996 in the village of Demigny in Burgundy. Both winegrower and merchant, he believes in ripe grapes and long aging to reveal all the finesse and magic of the Burgundy terroirs.
