Grana Padano is the PDO cheese with the highest consumption worldwide. Its origins date back about a thousand years, when Cistercian monks devised a new cheese to make use of milk left over from personal consumption and from the production of fresh cheese. Grana Padano cheese has nutritional values that are among the highest of all cheeses, so much so that, the nutritional properties of a litre of milk can be found in just 60 grams of cheese.
Colla S.p.a. began its activity in 1921 in a small dairy in Cadeo, in the province of Piacenza, and today is renowned throughout Italy for its excellence. The strength of this business lies in its ability to pursue growth and expansion without ever forgetting its roots. Roots planted by Giuseppe Colla in that far-off year of 1921. Today, management of the business is in the hands of the fourth generation of the family and it is a valued provider of employment for the area where it operates.
